2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI tS

After Subaru teased us with its new version of the 2011 Impreza WRX STI earlier this month, the carmaker has now revealed more details about this model that’s meant for the Japanese market. We already know that the WRX STI tS, which is tuned by STI, features a carbon fiber roof. Subaru tells us that there will be two special editions of the car: the "WRX STI tS," which is based on the 4-door SUBARU WRX STI and the "WRX STI A-Line tS," which is based on the WRX STI A-Line (automatic transmission model). The vehicles feature weight-reducing parts, including the carbon roof and an aluminum hood. They also feature a STI-tweaked suspension, 18-inch lightweight alloy rims, a new front bumper add-on element, and numerous tS logos.

The interiors get Recaro seats, custom sill plates and others. In Subaru’s press release, it stated that the new models feature Flexible Rear Support and Rear Suspension Link, the front and rear Dampers and special Coil Springs tuned by the STI, Flexible Tower Bar front, and the Flexible Draw-Stiffeners that were adopted to the R205 model that came out in 2010.

The tS features a twin-scroll turbocharged 2.0 liter Boxer unit that produces 308 hp and a maximum torque of 430 Nm (317 lb-ft), which is fitted with a five-speed manual gearbox. On the other hand, the A-Line tS features a single-scroll turbocharged 2.5 liter powerplant that delivers 300 hp and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque, using a five-speed automatic transmission.
