Sydney Derby Babes

Through Daisy-Boo Cannon the lovely lady who featured in my last volume of Talk Derby To Me I found these rad pictures. They were taken by Gunther Hang at the last two D'viants vs The Screaming Assault Sirens bout. They are Fantastic!
Enjoy.

SRDL Bout 4

This is a picture of me and Nata Lickit holding our D'viants banner at the fourth bout of this years Sydney Roller Derby Leagues season. The D'viants didn't win the bout, the Screaming Assault Sirens did but that doesn't really matter. The real winner is Australian Roller Derby! This bout was held at the Horden Pavilion and it sold out. What's better than that?

All pictures taken by Kim Lee.
Her facebook is here.

Photo Swap

My friend the lovely miss Tillie from She Waits For Whispers is hosting a photo swap where you take 24 photographs, print them and send them to someone else. Here is a few I have taken.

Babes

I like this picture. I found it here. This lady hasn't taken many pin-up kind of photos but she should do more. Leggy Vesey (the one with pink hair) is a total babe. She was strutting her stuff for Beserk Clothing at the Dead of Winter Festival. Damn this ladies got legs!

Red At Night

We were driving Lola home from her dance lesson and I made Dave pull over so I could take this picture. It looks like the end of the world.
Ain't no body got a blessing like mine.

Ferris Wheel Love.

How can you look at one and not feel happy? Here's a bunch I have saved from weheartit. The last two photos were taken by me a year and a half ago when I went to Sydney to find mum a wedding dress. It was at daring harbour and we went on it so many times.
Take care now.

Darla Teagarden

I've had a folder of images from this lovely lady on my computer for a long time now that I look to for inspiration from time to time. I'm a sucker for details so photography that uses props and hand painted backgrounds instead of photoshopping every detail in really moves me.
Miss Darla Teagarden creates her dreamy images with props and costumes she made by hand. Her resume will make most of us jealous... pin-up and fetish model, makeup artist, writer, cabaret dancer and vintage clothing buyer just to name a few.
So here's a bunch of her photos. I hope they inspire you the way they inspire me.
All pics were taken from here.
Her blog is worth a look too!
If you like these pics you will enjoy these also.

Bearded Dames.

I've had a busy little day for someone who is still in their pjs. I just washed and dried all my makeup brushes because i'm helping out my friends little sisters photo shoot. All i know is it's going to be bearded ladies in 50's dresses and ill be doing makeup and modelling. I'm excited because since I left my last makeup job I had felt so uninspired.
I have another big weekend coming up. Dave is playing double bass in a Buddy Holly show then straight after i'm heading to a friends house haunting party. I'm stoked because its a dress up as your favourite dead celebrity theme. Which if you know me you will know who ill be dressing as.
Also on the derby front i'll be at this so you should come.

You can buy tickets for the bout on sunday here.

Pin Ups Ahoy

If you're into pin ups and live in Australia chances are you already know who Bexterity is. She's been doing gorgeous pin up makeovers and photo shoots for the past three years. She works her magic from her own home near Sydney and she provides everything you need for a perky lil cheesecake makeover!
Here are some of her photographs two feature newcastle roller derby babes.

666 Photography

So many times i've thought of shoots that would be amazing but was limited by money and my lack of talent to make elaborate sets, props and costumes. But the team at 666 Photography has answers to all you're photo shoot dilemmas. Gayla takes all the photos and makes all of her props by hand, paints every backdrop and creates most of the costumes. Lisa Naeyaert is the lady behind all the fantastic makeup used in all the shoots as well. Too bad they are based in Austin otherwise I'd be begging them to work with me.
I love everything produced by 666. I mean what's not to love about theatre like pin up shoots of sailors, carni folk, ballerinas, religious and day of the dead babes?
See more of their work here.
